Children’s Ministry

Our Children’s Ministry endeavors to work with families to teach children about the greatness and worth of God and encourage children to glorify God, live holy lives and serve God joyfully.

How to Check-in Your Child

We have 3 Check-in areas to serve families. All children may be checked in at any of the check-in stations.

  • Elementary Playground Check-in is located outside the lower level playground
  • Early Childhood Check-in is located in the West Building in the Children’s Wing.
  • Guest and New Families Check in is found on the patio to the right of the main entrance of the West Building.

Volunteers at this area are happy to help new families register their children and check them into the classes appropriate for them. They will provide information about children’s ministry at Grace and answer any questions.

Early Childhood

Birth – Five Years Old

What We Provide

We provide classes for children birth to five years old during all 3 Sunday morning services. Babies receive loving care in the “Nest.” Toddlers enjoy a short time of singing praises and a Bible story, a practice which continues throughout the early childhood classes as we endeavor to teach our youngest ones at Grace about the greatness and might of God. ‘Children Desiring God‘ curriculum in used in our classes for children Birth to age 2. Our methods and content level changes as children’s ability to understand and attention spans develop. Our preschooler curriculum covers lessons from the Old Testament during summer and fall and the New Testament in winter and spring. The Sunday morning schedule for all our classes includes themed play, outside play (weather permitting) the Bible lesson, singing, often coloring or a craft and a snack for each class, each service.

Kindergarten – Fifth Grade

What We Provide

Our passion for teaching our children about the greatness and goodness of God continues through their elementary years. Each Sunday our elementary children meet together for a time of praise and worship. Following this they go to grade level classes where our dedicated teachers teach in interactive lessons.

Class Times

First service, at 8:00am, is a family service. Elementary children worship with their family for the entire service. During the 9:30 and 11:15 services children learn in children’s classes the entire service.

All elementary classes learn from Children Desiring God curriculum during second service and meet in grade level classes.

Learn more about Children Desiring God

Children Desiring God describes their curriculum as existing “to equip the body of Christ to spread to the next generations a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. Our aim is to impart to children a vision of God, who He is, and who we are in relation to Him, and to establish them with a foundation of doctrine and truth. We want them biblically grounded, seeing God as the hero of every story, with a God-centered world view and a faith that will hold them when the days of testing come. We want them to love the Lord their God with all their heart, and to delight in Him forever. “

During third service elementary classes learn from Generations of Grace curriculum. Classes usually divide into Kindergarten-first, second-third and fourth-fifth grade classes. Generations of Grace describe their curriculum as, “designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture. We can better understand who He is and how we are to respond to Him by studying how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used men to accomplish His purposes. Over a three-year period, this curriculum covers the entire narrative of God’s redemptive plan.
