Dear Grace Fullerton,

Last night, after weeks of prayer and discussion, we decided to reunite our congregations. Thank you for the weeks of prayer, words of encouragement, and valuable feedback you provided that have helped us make this decision. We know that reuniting will be no small change for you, but please know, we are making every effort to make this transition as smooth as possible.

We understand that for some of you, reuniting with us in La Mirada may not be best, but we want to communicate our great affection for each of you and our desire to continue serving as your shepherds. God has blessed our congregation with sweet fellowship and deep community, and we know there is concern that this might be lost in a larger assembly. We believe it will continue as we make the transition together, and further, we hope it will enrich the larger fellowship of Grace.

You may also wonder if your gifts are needed. To that the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” God has been equipping you for the work of ministry and your gifts and contribution will continue to bless our unified church family.

All of our current Fullerton staff members have been invited to continue serving in our reunited congregation.

The timeline for reuniting will be as follows.

  • March 12 and 19: We will continue our Genesis series with Kenny Clark and Adam Day preaching.
  • March 26: We will have one combined service at 9am to reflect back on all God has done among us and give Him thanks and praise.
  • April 2: This will be our first Sunday morning worshiping together in La Mirada, followed by our monthly Lord’s Supper service that evening.

At the end of today, we will send this letter out to our La Mirada congregation. We wanted to communicate this to you, our Grace Fullerton family, first.

Would you devote yourselves to prayer along with us for this transition and the next season of our life and ministry together at Grace? These words of Paul express our desire for the future as we move forward.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
ROMANS 15:5-6

In the coming weeks, we will provide more information and instruction about the transition process, particularly as it relates to children’s ministry. In the meantime, if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

For the sake of Christ’s name,

The Elders of Grace
