Dear Grace La Mirada,

Last night, following months of prayer and discussion, we decided to reunite Grace Fullerton and Grace La Mirada. We believe that this will best enable us to focus our efforts on fulfilling our mission to “present everyone mature in Christ.” We deeply desire to care for our flock and reach our community, as well as the world, with the gospel. We believe that reuniting our congregations will help us do this.  Thank you for your prayer support, words of encouragement, and valuable feedback that have helped us make this decision. We know that reuniting will be no small change for our church, but please know, we are making every effort to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Earlier today, also through e-mail, we communicated our great affection for the Fullerton congregation as well as our desire to continue serving as their shepherds. Over the years God has blessed them with sweet fellowship and deep community, and we know there is concern that this might be lost in a larger assembly. Not only do we believe this can continue during the period of transition, but our hope is that it would actually enrich the larger fellowship of Grace as we reunite.

The timeline for reuniting will be as follows:

  • March 12 and 19: Grace Fullerton will continue our Genesis series with Kenny Clark and Adam Day preaching.
  • March 26: Fullerton will have one combined service at 9am to reflect back on all God has done in and through the Fullerton congregation, as well as to offer him thanks and praise.
  • April 2: This will be our first Sunday morning worshiping together in La Mirada, followed by our monthly Lord’s Supper service that evening.

All of our current Fullerton staff have been invited to continue serving in our reunited congregation.

Would you please devote yourselves to prayer along with us for this transition and the next season of our life and ministry together at Grace? These words of Paul express our desire for the future as we move forward.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
ROMANS 15:5-6

In the coming weeks, we will provide more information and instruction about the transition process, particularly as it relates to children’s ministry. In the meantime, if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

For the sake of Christ’s name,

The Elders of Grace
