Can you remember the last time you prayed like this (Psalm 13:1-3)? Maybe you’re praying this right now.
How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Consider and answer me, O LORD my God.
Thirteen different Psalms ask God, “How long?” Tom Petty was right. “The waiting is the hardest part.”
This Sunday in Genesis 40-41, we’ll see Joseph continuing to wait, stuck in the pit of the king’s prison, forgotten by everyone but God… and finally He answers. As we’ve seen the last three weeks, everything is moving according to God’s plan and His timetable. We need our faith in this strengthened.
Please pray for Randall Gruendyke as he prepares to preach from these chapters, for Walt Harrah as he plans to lead us in praise and prayer, and that God’s word would land on fertile soil in the hearts of each one who comes this Sunday.
See you Sunday!
