This Sunday we will begin our final section of Genesis and have entitled this last series God Meant It for Good, taken from the final chapter when Joseph looked his brothers (who had sold him into slavery!) in the eyes and declared:
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today (50:20).”
In God’s providence, even the evil deeds of wicked men work to advance His good purposes. Not only does this theme thread its way through every single scene of the Joseph narrative, but it continues on throughout the whole Bible, and into our own lives!
Kip Dochterman will be preaching this Sunday from Genesis 37. Would you take time this week to ask God to meet us as we are together for worship this Sunday? Pray for Kip as he prepares. Pray for us to be receptive to God’s word for us. And it never hurts to read ahead!
