After two wonderful reflection services this past Sunday, we will be pausing our series in Luke’s Gospel until the new year. In the meantime, here’s what’s ahead for us.
This Sunday we will start a five-week topical series called GATHER where we’ll consider five reasons we are to devote ourselves to gathering regularly with our church family.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Heb. 10:24–25)
As the Day of the Lord draws near, why is meeting together so crucial? Because God redeemed us not just from something (sin, guilt, death, hell) but to something. Some things, actually.
OCT 9 – TEMPLE (Kenny Clark)
We gather as the temple of God to worship
OCT 16 – HOME (Erik Thoennes)
We gather as the family of God to love one another
OCT 23 – SCHOOL (Randy Gruendyke)
We gather as disciples to learn Christ together
OCT 30 – HOSPITAL (Rob Lister)
We gather as a body to be healed from our sin
NOV 6 – BARRACKS (Erik Thoennes)
We gather as “soldiers” (2 Tim. 2:3) to “wage the good warfare” (1 Tim. 1:18)
Would you pray for each of our preaching team as we prepare? And let’s be praying that Ephesians 2:20-22 would be happening among us at Grace, that “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord” that He would be building us up “together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
See you Sunday, Grace. Come hungry!
