We’re coming to the end of the eighth chapter of Luke this Sunday and we’ve covered a lot of ground. We’ve seen Jesus do many amazing works and heard him say many important things. Let’s not forget why Luke wrote this book. “That you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught (Luke 1:4).”
Before looking ahead to our passage for this Sunday, take some time to sit and reflect back over all that you’ve heard and seen so far and ask yourself, “In what ways am I growing more certain about who Jesus is, what he has done, and all that he has said to me?” Don’t rush. Linger over this, write down what the Lord brings to mind, and look for an opportunity to share one thing you’ve realized with someone else this week.
Now read Luke 8:40-56, our passage for this Sunday, and ask the Lord to continue to strengthen your certainty and confidence in Jesus through this word. Kenny Clark will be preaching and Walt Harrah will be leading our sung worship. Would you pray for each as they prepare? See you Sunday, Grace. Come hungry!
SONG OF THE WEEK
Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus by Shane and Shane
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!
