Our text this week will be Genesis 30:25-31:55.

Last Sunday we saw how God began to fulfill the first part of His Bethel blessing, multiplying Jacob’s offspring to eleven sons and a daughter. This week we’ll see God begin to work out the second part of His promise. “I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” (Genesis 28:15).”

After fourteen long years, the Lord enriches Jacob greatly, calls him to return home to Canaan, and protects him from Laban who isn’t so happy to see them leave.

The Lord keeps His promises. He proved to Jacob that He would never leave His side. And He has proven to us that He will never leave our side. We need that reminder.

Would you read through this passage and pray for your own heart AND for the hearts of your Grace brothers and sisters in preparation for this week’s gathered worship?

  • Colossians 1:11–12 is a great prayer of preparation as we gather for Sunday worship. Pray that each of us would be “strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified [us] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”
  • And please pray for Jackson Randall as he prepares to preach and for Kenny Clark as he prepares to lead us in sung worship.
