Are you ready to be baptized?
Baptism is both a declaration and a display of our restored relationship with God. When you are baptized, you are declaring to God’s people that your faith is in Jesus and you are a member of God’s family. When believers are lowered into the water it is a picture of going down into the grave; we are symbolically identifying ourselves with the death of Jesus. Like Jesus, though, we don’t stay in the grave. Coming up out of the water is a picture of being resurrected from the dead to live an entirely new kind of life. A key part of this new life is our new family, the church. In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded his disciples to make disciples “baptizing them” (Matthew 28:19). If you have turned from sin and trusted in Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sin, we encourage you to take this public step of obedience and identification with Christ and be baptized.
We will offer a baptism class on Sunday, September 20 at 5pm on our shaded patio at Grace. If you would like to attend, please sign up HERE.
Following the class, one of our elders will meet with you to confirm your readiness.
We will be holding an outdoor evening baptism service on October 4 at 5pm in our lower parking lot.
