December 29, 2019

If you’ve been at Grace for any length of time you have heard us explain what we understand to be our biblical mission and vision as a local church.

Our mission is to be a gospel proclaiming, equipping, nurturing, and sending church, transformed by the redeeming work of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Our vision is to present everyone mature in Christ (Col. 1:28).

Consider the word nurturing. It means to care for someone and to encourage their growth and health. One of the ways the redeeming work of Christ ought to be transforming us is by leading us out of independence into interdependence. When God adopts us he brings us into a family and the Holy Spirit helps move us from me-centeredness to we-centeredness.

As we begin the new year, we will be taking three Sundays to kindle (or re-kindle) Gospel-nurturing hearts among us by considering three “one anothers” from the New Testament.

DEC 29          Teach and admonish one another. (Colossians 3:16)
JAN 5             Bear one another’s burdens. (Galatians 6:2)
JAN 12           Serve one another. (1 Peter 4:10)

Jackson Randall will be preaching this Sunday, December 29 and Walt Harrah will be leading our time of sung worship. Would you pray for each as they prepare and for Grace as we begin 2020? That we would truly be a gospel nurturing church family?

See you Sunday. Come hungry!
