In Exodus 4 this Sunday, we will see part two of Moses’ burning bush encounter with God. If God’s humble holiness was on full display in chapter 3, His patient power is highlighted in chapter 4 as Moses continues to prove to be a very reluctant deliverer.
Later in Exodus 34, when God will make his glory pass by Moses on Mount Sinai, He will proclaim, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness… (Exodus 34:6)” We will see that slowness to anger in action this week as God bears patiently with Moses’ wobbly faith and stubborn insecurity (which we should all be able to relate to!) and reassures him that His powerful presence will not leave him from beginning to end.
Rob Lister will be preaching from Exodus 4:1-17 and Caleb Bilti will be leading us in sung worship to our eager and joyful Deliverer, Jesus (cf. Philippians 2:5-8 and Hebrews 12:2). Would you pray for them this week as they wrap up their preparation?
See you Sunday, Grace. Come hungry!

[Note: Each week I include a link to a song or hymn. It may or may not be one we will be singing the next Sunday, but it is always selected to help you take a few minutes to reflect and respond to the sermon prep for the week in worship.]
Faithful Love from Songs of Grace
You, O God, are a compassionate God, a gracious God
Slow to anger and abounding in faithful love
Every day You provide with Your Spirit to guide
Now by faith we abide in Your love
